CFD Project Roadmap

At Navier, we follow the same project roadmap process for all our CFD projects, large or small to ensure a consistent level of quality is delivered to all our clients. This procedure helps us ensure that the project is delivered on time with the desired project outcomes (i.e. solving your problem), and always ensuring that you get a return on your investment. 

Stage 1: Discovery Phase

During an initial consultation we will discuss with you your project requirements and desired outcomes. It’s during this conversation that we will be very honest and upfront about whether CFD is a good fit for your project. If we conclude that it is then we will move on to digging deeper into your requirements and identifying key project outcomes that will later be used to form deliverables.

If CFD is not suitable for your project, then we can help you to identify other suitable options to satisfy your project requirements.

Stage 2: Important milestones, deliverables and delivery timeline

We will review and help refine the project deliverables and business outcomes.

Stage 3: Possible risks / Dependencies

We will define the information that we require from you and highlight any possible project risks.

Stage 4: Proposal Submission

We then submit a zero obligation, fixed price proposal to you with clearly defined project outcomes and lead times.

Stage 5: Data Gathering

If the proposal is accepted, we will gather all the necessary inputs for the simulation including operating conditions and geometry definitions etc. We then review all the data provided to ensure that there are no issues, or additional details required.

Stage 6: Model Definition

We identify the most suitable numerical modelling approach to solve your problem based on our experience and what we have learnt from the initial consultation and data supplied. We will compile all the information into a basis of analysis document for review prior to carrying out any analysis.

Stage 7: Data analysis and Results Interpretation

Navier employs a suite of industry leading software tools to define the analytical representation of the geometry, create a computational grid, setup the numerical models and physics to achieve a suitable solution.

Stage 8: Reporting

We report our results and findings back to you in a meaningful form, with actionable recommendations to improve your design.

We execute all activities to a clearly defined, scheduled and resourced plan (with defined milestones, stage gate reviews, deliverables and response times).

Throughout all phases of the project we also use WebEx to provide progress reports to key stakeholders.
